Children's Museum of Pittsburgh Seeks Oneminuesjr. Video Workshop Applicants - Deadline 6/15

5/2/2012. Filed under Press Releases.

The OneminutesJr. Workshop will be a fun and exciting five days, where you learn about video making and story telling and get the chance to make your own oneminute video!  The work shop will be held July 2-7 (excluding the 4th) with a Red Carpet Video Premiere on Saturday, July 7th in the Museum’s Theater.  You’ll  work with other students from the Pittsburgh region as well as video artists from Amsterdam (Salomé and Vivian) and UNICEF coordinators from New York (Karen and Scott).  You must be able to commit to the full week of the work shop, including the reception on Saturday.

The theme of the workshop is “Who Am I?”  It’s about life, who you are, your dreams, your future and the world around you.  Here a few questions to consider:

•    What are some things about your identity that define you?
•    Check out your neighborhood, the food you eat, your cultural background with fresh eyes and imagine them on screen.
•    What do you do during your free time? Have any hobbies that are unique and make you who you are?
•    Your dreams - if you could create a fantasy future, what would it look like for you? How do your dreams help form your identity?

There are many different ways of telling your story/idea within a oneminute video.

During the five days of the workshop you will learn everything about filming, sound and editing.  It’s not necessary to have a solid video idea when you arrive, but we would love for you to have some inspiration and reflection on the theme! So we encourage you to start thinking from a personal point of view, to make films that truly reflect your vision and location.

Lunch will be provided daily!
