The Importance of Quality
Quality in after school programming is part of a growing national trend. APOST believes that high-quality programming and management enables youth workers to make the most impact on youths’ lives and retains youth in programming. Youth who are engaged in quality programs are equipped with the skills and motivation to improve their own outcomes as well as create a long lasting impact within their communities.
The Quality Campaign
The Quality Campaign is made up of member organizations that have all gone through a Quality Self-Assessment process and have committed to a continuous quality improvement process. The Campaign is part of a movement towards building quality in our region.
Joining this movement ensures that your key stakeholders, including staff, youth and parents, are putting steps in place to strive for better quality, while also connecting you to a network of other quality-focused organizations. In addition, members enjoy exclusive access to Mini-Grants of up to $6,000 a year and first priority to resources and special opportunities sponsored by APOST.

Interested in joining the Quality Campaign movement? Join us for an orientation, which provides an introduction to the continuous quality improvement process as well as information on how to complete the quality self-assessment (QSA) tool. Group orientations are held every month or can be scheduled individually. Contact APOST at APOST@uwac.org to find out when our next orientation will be held or to schedule a personalized orientation for your organization.
What are our members saying about the QC Process?
“The self-assessment process that we recently undertook to apply for membership in APOST’s Quality Campaign was rigorous but rewarding. We are a small organization, so the self-assessment was truly an “all hands on deck” undertaking. The Quality Self-Assessment was an eye-opening process, revealing some areas of need while confirming many of our strengths as well. The process was challenging but worthwhile, and we’re a better organization for having gone through it. We are very proud to be an APOST Quality Campaign member and to be in the company of such excellent fellow organizations.” – Angela Lowden, Art Expression
